Associated With Zaim Saidi's Dinar-Dirham, Antam Turns Out To Succeed In Earning IDR835 Billion Profits Last Year

It is said that Zaim Saidi, the initiator of the transaction, admitted to minting dinar and dirham coins through product services that Antam usually offers to the public. Inevitably this caused a public furor.
However, to VOI SVP Corporate Secretary Antam Kunto Hendrapawoko confirmed that there were no orders for dinars and dirhams in the company list in the name of Zaim Saidi or Amirat Nusantara.
"From our historical data, there were no orders for gold dinar coins and silver dirham pieces from Amirat Nusantara or Amir Zaim Saidi," he said Friday, February 5.
According to Kunto, the company can indeed provide various precious metal products that can be custom ordered for investment purposes and not as a transaction tool.
"The production of dinar gold coins and silver dirham coins is not intended as a medium of exchange. Because the dinars and dirhams that Antam produce are collectible items, the same as gift series gold or batik gold," he said.
From Kunto's affirmation, there was a message that Zaim, if he really ordered from Antam, was strongly suspected of having committed acts of misuse of precious metals for improper purposes.
In fact, Antam is a 'big' BUMN with quite good performance. The corporation with the ticker code ANTM is a major player in the country for mining affairs, particularly in terms of supplying precious metals.
Based on ANTM's latest financial report in the third quarter of 2020, it was stated that the company managed to collect a net profit of IDR 835.7 billion. This achievement is claimed to have shot 30 percent compared to the same period in 2019 with a total of IDR 641.5 billion.
"The operational strategy supports the growth of profitability in all of the company's main operating segments based on nickel, gold and bauxite," said Antam in a release.
Meanwhile, the ANTM cuan sector was supported by sparkling gold sales during the first nine months of 2020.
Gold products became the largest sales contributor with 72 percent of total sales with a value of IDR 12.98 trillion. Meanwhile, the net sales value of all products was recorded at Rp. 18.04 trillion.
This condition has an effect on the net cash flow obtained from operating activities of Rp1.12 trillion. With a cash position level of IDR 3.67 trillion, ANTAM said it has a solid financial position to support sustainable operations and business development.
