JAKARTA - A total of seven scheduled flights to and from General Ahmad Yani International Airport, Semarang City, Central Java, were postponed due to floods that inundated the runway.

Flights that were delayed due to bad weather and flooding on the runway were Batik Air ID 6362 Jakarta-Semarang route, Batik Air ID 6350 Jakarta-Semarang route, Nam Air IN 195 Pangkalan Bun-Semarang route.

Then Wings Air IW 1806 Semarang-Pangkalan Bun route, Garuda Indonesia GA 235 Semarang-Jakarta route, Batik Air ID 7369 Semarang-Jakarta route, and Nam Air IN 196 Semarang-Pangkalan Bun route.

Heri also conveyed that his party was extending the temporary closure of General Ahmad Yani International Airport until the weather was good.

In addition, he continued, he was also waiting for the suction of the puddle on the runway to be completed.

"Checking and cleaning the airside area and terminal are still being carried out by the officers," he said.

As reported, the temporary closure of General Ahmad Yani International Airport was carried out following a puddle of water on the runway after routine checks or inspections in the morning due to bad weather and heavy rain since Friday (5/2) night.

Currently efforts are being made to clean and suction the puddles on the runway by operating 54 pump units.
