After Leaving Menparekeraf And Returning To Become Tokopedia Commissioner, Wishnutama: I Am Happy

JAKARTA - Former Minister of Tourism and Creative Economy Wishnutama Kusubandio returned to his "old job". Yes, he was again appointed as commissioner of one of the largest marketplaces in Indonesia, Tokopedia.

Before serving as Menparekraf, Wishnutama, had indeed served as a commissioner for Tokopedia. He then resigned on October 21, 2019, or once he was appointed as minister by President Joko Widodo (Jokowi) at that time.

Tokopedia Founder and CEO, William Tanuwijaya, said that his party believes that Wishnutama's experience and leadership can provide added value to the company.

"Tokopedia believes that Mas Tama's experience of leadership and creativity will provide added value, both for leaders in Tokopedia, the institution as a whole, and accelerating the realization of Tokopedia's great mission for Indonesia," William said in his written statement, Friday, February 5.

Meanwhile, Wishnutama appreciated Tokopedia's mission to carry out economic equality in Indonesia.

"I really appreciate Tokopedia's mission in carrying out economic equality in Indonesia digitally. Especially in terms of empowering local MSMEs which are closely related to the progress of the country's creative economy. I am happy to be able to join Tokopedia and share my experiences to support company goals," he said this man who is familiarly called Tama.
