Police Examine 3 Witnesses Of APO 45 Jayapura Settlement Fire
JAYAPURA - Investigators from the Jayapura City Police Criminal Investigation Unit (Reskrim), Papua have examined and asked for information from three witnesses regarding the house fire in a densely populated area of APO 45, North Jayapura District, Jayapura City.
Head of Criminal Investigation Unit AKP Oscar Fajar Rahadian said the three witnesses had been asked for information regarding the fire that scorched two houses belonging to Niko Pawika (50), Sunday night (17/9).
The fire, which allegedly came from a stove in one of the victims' boarding rooms, occurred at around 19.30 WIT, and spread to other buildings.
"Investigators have also identified and conducted TKP processing," explained the Head of Criminal Investigation Unit, quoted by ANTARA, Monday, September 18.
Meanwhile, the Head of the Jayapura City Fire Department (Damkar), Marghareta Kirana separately said that during the fire, his team had difficulty extinguishing it because the vehicle could not enter the location.
"However, with various efforts carried out, the fire was finally extinguished at around 21.13 WIT by lowering four fire engines and one water canon belonging to the Jayapura City Police," explained Kirana.

Kirana said on Monday (18/9) another fire broke out in the Waena area, Heram District, which scorched one resident's house. The fire is thought to have been caused by a short circuit or short circuit.
