The Exoticism Of Sumba And The Ferocity Of Ferrari
JAKARTA - Sumba Island, East Nusa Tenggara has something special that doesn't exist anywhere else. Beautiful places that really spoil the eye make Sumba now one of the natural attractions that Indonesian people are interested in.
But what happens if the beauty of Sumba is combined with the ferocious Ferrari Portofino? The exotic Sumba meets the beautiful supercar, of course, gave birth to Ferarri's identity, which is fast, elegant, and mighty at the same time.
In 2019, Ferrari Jakarta held a Ferrari Portofino photo shoot in several locations on Sumba Island. These activities are part of the Ferrari Portofino campaign in iconic places around the world.
In Sumba, Ferrari Jakarta chose Hiliwuku Hill, East Sumba, Central Sumba Pine Forest, Prai Ijing West Sumba Megalithic Traditional Village, and Ratenggaro Beach, Southwest Sumba.
In his official statement, Ferrari revealed that the location on the island nicknamed Tanah Marapu was chosen because Sumba has a diverse nature but is in one cluster.
Starting from the orange savannah like in Africa, desert hills that change color with the season, very blue beaches with soft white sand, and amazing sunsets.
Launching Wikipedia, Sumba is an island in the province of East Nusa Tenggara, Indonesia. Its area is 10,710 km², and its highest point is Mount Wanggameti (1,225 m).

Before being visited by Europeans in 1522, Sumba was never controlled by any nation. Since 1866, the island was controlled by the Dutch East Indies and subsequently became part of Indonesia.
The people of Sumba are racially a mixture of Mongoloid and Melanesoid races. Most of the population adheres to Marapu animism and Christianity, both Protestant and Catholic. Muslims in small numbers can be found along the coast.
Meanwhile, the Ferrari Portofino made its debut at the Frankfurt Motor Show 2017. The car is present in Indonesia and is officially marketed a year later. The presence of this car has received many positive responses from the Prancing Horse fans.
In terms of design, the appearance of the Ferrari Portofino is more pleasing to the eye than the California T. The headlights which are changed from vertical to horizontal make the Portofino dashing and aggressive.
The car's name is taken from a fishing village in Genoa, Italy. The name represents an elegant car and can represent the beauty of the Portofino from Ferrari's latest grand tourer (GT).
Based on 2019 data, this car is priced at around IDR 10 billion off the road. Even so, the Portofino is the only Ferrari supercar with the cheapest label compared to other models.
