Sukiman, House Of Representatives Commission XI Former Member, Was Sent To Sukamiskin Prison
JAKARTA - The Corruption Eradication Commission (KPK) executed a convicted person in a bribery case of budget allocation in Arfak Mountains District, West Papua, Sukiman to Sukamiskin Prison, Bandung, West Java. This former member of Commission XI of the DPR was executed after being convicted of corruption.
"The KPK Execution Prosecutor Dormian has carried out the corporal executions of the convicts by sending them to the Sukamiskin Prison," said Acting KPK spokesman for Enforcement Ali Fikri in his written statement, Friday, February 5.
He said the execution of Sukiman referred to the Supreme Court Decision Number: 4792K/Pid.Sus/2020 dated December 23, 2020 in conjunction with the Corruption Court Decision at the DKI Jakarta High Court Number: 19/Pid.Sus-TPK/2020/PT.DKI dated July 17, 2020 Jo Corruption Court Decision at the Central Jakarta District Court Number: 121/Pid.Sus/TPK/2019/PN.Jkt.Pst dated May 8, 2020 which has permanent legal force.
Sukiman, said Ali, would serve a reduced prison sentence of six years while in detention. Politicians from the National Mandate Party (PAN) are also required to pay a fine of IDR 500 million on the condition that if the fine is not paid then it is replaced by imprisonment for six months.
In addition, he is also charged with paying a replacement fee of IDR 2.65 billion and 22 thousand US dollars no later than one month after the verdict is declared inkracht or obtains permanent legal force. If within that period the convict does not pay replacement money, the prosecutor will confiscate his property and auction it off to cover the replacement money.
"And in the case of not having sufficient assets, he will be sentenced to prison for three years," said Ali.
Sukiman was found guilty in court of accepting bribes worth IDR 2.65 billion and USD 22,000 from former Acting Head of the Arfak Mountains Public Works Service, Natan Pasomba, along with Arfak Mountains Regent Yosias Saroy and two partners of the Arfak Mountains Public Works Service, Nicolas Tampang Allo and Sovian Lati Lipu.
The bribe was given through the Head of the Financial Allocation Fund Planning Section of the Directorate General of Fiscal Balance, Financial Horrors for the 2015-2017 period, Rifa Surya and expert members of the DPR from the PAN Faction Suherlan. The giving of money is intended so that the Arfak Mountains Regency get a budget allocation sourced from the Revised State Budget for Fiscal Year 2017 and APBN 2018.
Apart from executing Sukiman, the KPK also executed the former President Director of Perum Jasa Tirta II, Djoko Saputro. Djoko was convicted in a corruption case in the procurement of consulting services at Perum Jasa Tirta II in 2017.
Ali said Djoko would serve a prison sentence of five years, reduced while in custody. In addition, he was also charged with the obligation to pay a fine of IDR 300 million. "With the provision that if the fine is not paid, it will be replaced by imprisonment for 6 months," he concluded.
