DPRD Wants Central Java Movement Violators Only At Home Punished, Ganjar: I Don't Want To Punish The People

SEMARANG - Central Java Governor Ganjar Pranowo does not want the authorities to be authorized to punish violators of the Central Java Movement at Home Only. Ganjar emphasized that this movement is to build behavior and public awareness in reducing the number of COVID-19 cases.

"As for the punishment, I feel like I don't want to punish my people, yes, but Central Java has Perda (Number 11) of 2013 that has been regulated, and this (Central Java Movement Only at Home, red) talks about two things, namely running regulations but awareness. also awakened, "he said in Semarang, quoted by Antara, Thursday, February 4.

Ganjar said the Central Java Movement at Home Only on February 6-7, 2021 was not a signal of implementing a "lockdown", but as an effort to re-enforce the declining health protocol discipline.

"We are learning discipline, not 'lockdown' because of the fact that public discipline has started to decline and this is what we are trying to do in a more persuasive way," he said.

This contradicts the statement of the Chairman of the Central Java Provincial DPRD, Bambang Kusriyanto, who wants sanctions for violators of the Central Java Movement at Home Only to be effective.

"For me, the appeal for 48 hours at home without any sanctions for violators is not effective because public awareness to jointly prevent the spread of COVID-19 is still low," he said.

According to him, if people are asked to be at home for two days it is the same as implementing a "lockdown" and the one who plays a more important role in its implementation is the regent / mayor as the regional stakeholder.

As reported, Central Java Governor Ganjar Pranowo invited all Central Java people to stay at home for two days through the Central Java Movement at Home Only. This movement is expected to reduce the crowd as well as the positive number of COVID-19.

The Central Java Movement at Home Only will be held on 6-7 February 2021 through Circular Number 443.5 / 0001933 concerning increasing discipline and tightening health protocols on the implementation of phase II restrictions on community activities (PPKM) in Central Java.

This policy does not apply to people engaged in essential sectors including health, disaster, security, energy, communication and information technology, finance, banking, logistics and basic needs of the community, hospitality, construction, strategic industries, basic services, public utilities. and industries designated as vital national objects.
