Please Be Alert, Until February 6 Heavy Rain Can Potentially Occur In These 5 Areas
JAKARTA - The Regional Disaster Management Agency (BPBD) of West Java Province has asked five regions prone to natural disasters during the current extreme weather to be on alert.
Early warning letters have been sent to the five regions, namely, the City Government of Bekasi, Bekasi Regency, Bogor City, Bogor Regency, and Depok City.
"Based on information from the Meteorological, Climatological, and Geophysical Agency (BMKG) in the area there is a potential for quite high rain to occur until February 6. Therefore, we have sent a letter to alert the area, anticipating hydrometeorological disasters", explained the Head of the West Java BPBD Daily Executive, Dani Ramdan in Bandung, Thursday, February 4.
"So, not at a macro level or to the entire West Java community, we address the warning, but only to local governments who are considered high risk. But of course, we still urge all people to remain vigilant, especially those who travel and travel", explained Dani.
Dani said that BPBD has also prepared supporting equipment for disaster impact management efforts.
"West Java BPBD has coordinated with the regions, especially the respective Public Works Service, to alert heavy equipment until May, including alertness in natural tourism areas", he said.
In addition, he explained, West Java BPBD had facilitated the implementation of disaster mitigation training for residents and communities to improve community preparedness in dealing with disasters.
