Dozens Of South Sulawesi Terrorists Moved To Cikeas Detention Center
JAKARTA - Dozens of suspected terrorists from the Gorontalo and Makassar groups who have been transferred to Jakarta will be placed in a special terrorist detention center in Cikeas Bogor, West Java.
The Cikeas detention center was chosen as the location for the detention of the suspected terrorists based on the considerations of the Anti-terror Special Detachment 88 investigators.
"Yes, at (Rutan) Cikeas," said Karo Penmas, Police Public Relations Division, Brigadier General Rusdi Hartono, to reporters, Thursday, February 4.
The Densus 88 Anti-terror has transferred 26 suspected terrorists from Gorontalo and Makassar to Jakarta. Most of the suspected terrorists are members of the Islamic Defenders Front (FPI) Makassar.
"Of the 19 members arrested, all were involved or were members of the Islamic Defenders Front (FPI) in Makassar. They were very active in FPI activities in Makassar," said Rusdi.
Later the Densus 88 investigators will study their statements. However, while their roles are active in various FPI activities.
"They are very active in FPI activities in Makassar. Of course this group will be followed up by Densus 88 to solve the problem of acts of terrorism in Indonesia," he said.
Meanwhile, the other seven people are the Gorontalo terrorist group. They are also involved in the terrorist group Jamaah Ansharut Daulah (JAD).
"In Gorontalo, this group is known as Ikhwan Pahuwato. This is a JAD group affiliated to ISIS. They have prepared themselves for physical training, self-defense training, then also archery training, knife throwing training and shooting training with air rifles," he explained.
In fact, this group also has the ability to assemble bombs. With this capability, they plan to spread acts of terror at a number of points in Gorontalo, including facilities belonging to the Police.
"This group plans to attack Mako Polri, official houses of police officers and houses of officials in Gorontalo and also plans to rob several shops around Gorontalo," he said.
