Police Arrest 7 DPO Burn Cases In Kramongga Fakfak
The joint team of the West Papua Regional Police (Polda) again arrested seven perpetrators of the burning of district, school and persecution offices that killed the Head of Kramangga District, Fakfak Regency, after being included in the wanted list (DPO).
"Seven DPOs were arrested by the joint apparatus (Polda, Satbrimob, and Fakfak Police) Saturday (9/9) in the morning," said Head of Public Relations of the West Papua Police, Police Commissioner Adam Erwindi to ANTARA in Manokwari, Sunday.
He explained that the joint team carried out an ambush at the headquarters of the perpetrators affiliated with the armed criminal group (KKB), and arrested three DPOs with the initials AK, YR, and YI.
Meanwhile, four other DPOs, namely NH, OH, S, and N, were forced to be shot dead, for resisting the police during the ambush.
"Four DPOs were taken decisively measured for attacking and injuring a member of the National Police, even though they had been given warning shots," explained Adam Erwindi.
He said the evidence that was secured from the ambush site was an active grenade, a number of sharp weapons in the form of machetes and arrows used by the perpetrators to attack the officers.
Measured decisive action was taken in accordance with the direction of the Regional Police Chief Inspector General of Police Daniel Tahi Monang Silitonga in the event of a fight that endangers the safety of police officers.
"One member of the Bintuni Bay Satbrimob who was injured in the ambush was Bripda Hengki Frengki Wonatorey," said Adam.
Of the 21 DPOs, said Adam Erwindi, nine perpetrators have been arrested and the police are still pursuing 12 other DPOs to account for their anarchist actions.
Previously, the joint team had arrested three DPOs, and one of the three DPOs had to be shot dead for resisting arrest.
"There were two suspects who were immediately arrested from the start, after the issuance of 21 DPO people after a few days, we secured three DPOs and one person died," said Adam.
Based on the results of the examination of the two suspects, he said, dozens of perpetrators were affiliated with the KKB and planned the burning of the Kramongga District Office accompanied by the persecution of the Head of Krambongga District, Darson Hegemur, to death on Tuesday night (15/8) at 19.30 WIT.
Two days later, Friday (18/7), the perpetrators again burned the Central Fakfak District Office at around 03.30 WIT and there were no casualties in the incident.
"All incidents of burning public facilities in Fakfak are interrelated. We urge 12 DPOs to surrender, we guarantee their security," said Adam Erwindi.
He admitted that the police had experienced obstacles because the statements obtained from 80 witnesses did not match the facts on the ground, even though the police had a benchmark on the confessions of the two suspects.
The police also hope that all components of the community in Fakfak Regency play an active role in helping to reveal the arson incident, if they know of the whereabouts of the 12 DPOs who are still being pursued.
"We ask for cooperation from the community, if you see the perpetrator, immediately report it to the nearest police station or through Call Center 110," he said.
