Muhaimin hopes that the figure of KH Hasan Gipo will be a good example and role model, for all generations and citizens of NU.
KH Hasan Basri Sagipodin or often called Hasan Gipo (1869 - 1934) is an Islamic figure and a merchant born in Surabaya. He was the first chairman of PBNU to accompany KH Hasyim Asy'ari as Rais Akbar. Gipo's name is the shortcoming of Sagipodin, which is the name of a family known as a wealthy merchant at that time and still has descent from Sunan Ampel.
He was buried in the Kanjeng Sunan Ampel Cemetery in Surabaya, east of the Ampel Mosque, in one location with the grave of the National Hero as well as a Muhammadiyah figure KH Mas Mansur.
