Grin, Danilla Collaborates With Ishtarkult, A Sci-Fi Animated Music Video
JAKARTA - A high-octane rock band, Seringai launched a music video for Ishtarkult's single song. The music video, which is packaged in a 3D animation format, features Danilla Riyadi as a guest musician.
This 5 minute 20 second doom metal style song is the third single song taken from the album Like Api (2018). According to data from one of the international music streaming services, the song Ishtarkult, until now has been played more than 1.2 million times only on that platform.
According to an official statement received by VOI, Thursday, February 4, the idea for the story of the music video was adapted from the lyrics of the song Ishtarkult, written by vocalist Arian13.
Tells the story of a Sumerian sect leader and worshipers meeting the graceful goddess Ishtar in a barren Mesopotamia desert. Instead of spreading hope and prosperity, the arrival of the goddess actually brought havoc for all. According to Babylonian mythology quoted by Wikipedia, Ishtar is the embodiment of the goddess of fertility, love, war and sexual relations.
The music video for Ishtarkult was worked on for four months by Afterlab, a 3D animation studio from Bandung, which previously handled a web-based animation series, Si Kancil. Afterlab is also part of the Visinema ecosystem.
“I love science fiction and animation. When I saw the video of 'Si Kancil', I immediately said, 'this is it.' We are looking for Afterlab contacts. Especially in the song Ishtarkult we feature Danilla. After discussing with Afterlab we also agreed, and this is the result, ”Arian13 explained.
Meanwhile, Danilla, admitted that he never thought he would be involved in this project. According to him, being invited to fill the song Servant had never existed before in his wildest imagination.
“This is like one of the coolest and most honorable opportunities in my life. To be honest, this Ishtarkult Project is an amazing thing, "said Danilla Riyadi.
Grin himself has been on stage for more than a year now. Apart from the COVID-19 pandemic which is still attacking, vocalist Arian13 in recent months has been conducting a vocal break according to medical advice due to interference with his vocal cords.
However, it is certain that Arian13, guitarist Ricky Siahaan, drummer Edy Khemod and bassist Sammy Bramantyo are currently busy conducting workshops for the upcoming new album. While waiting for their new album, watch and enjoy the sensation of the Ishtarkult music video below.
