Form Of General Maya With Indra Q And Bongky, Pay: While BIP Was Relaxing First

JAKARTA - Three BIP band personnel; Bongky, Indra Q and Pay created a music project called General Maya. This project is currently languishing in the studio preparing the debut album.

General Maya was formed on January 27, 2021. There is a name @andeweazallosplos who acts as the executive producer of this project.

Talking about the direction of the music that resides in his songs, Pay said, the composition in General Maya's debut album was showered with the spirit of Slank 13 formation era with new passion.

"I really want to be like before," said Pay to VOI briefly.

He then explained, General Maya took a number of singers to take part in this album. However, one of the country's virtuoso guitarists is reluctant to give a leak who the singer is.

"The three of us (with Indra Q and Bongky), but many singers. We don't know who the singers are," Pay said.

Then, what about the fate of BIP? The band formed by Pay, Indra Q, and Bongky since being fired from Slank in 1996?

"While BIP relaxes first," said Dewiq's ex-husband.

Bongky, Indra, and Pay founded BIP four years after being fired from Slank, to be precise on April 20, 2000 at the Potlot reunion held at GOR Saparua, Bandung. Previously, the Slank graduates had formed a group called Sablenk (I am a former Slank child).

BIP's initial vocalist was Irang Perdana Arkad. They released two albums, namely Turun dari Langit (2001) - which gave birth to the single song Skak Mat, Aku Fat Lagi and 1000 Poems - and Min Plus (2002) under the auspices of EMI Music Indonesia.

Early March 2003, Irang decided to resign. April 2003, to coincide with the release of the album The Best of BIP: Turns out that I had to choose which included 14 songs, BIP announced that they were no longer using Irang as a vocalist. Instead, they took Ipang, the former vocalist of Plastik.

With the format of Bongky (bass), Indra (keyboards), Pay (guitar), Jaka (drums), and Ipang (vocals), they released the album Air Fresh (2004) under Forte Records. After being on hiatus for about six years, finally on November 26, 2010 BIP released a new album titled Departing under the auspices of Fame Music.

In 2016, BIP released the album Kata Jenderal through a joint concept from Bipers (BIP fans). Three years later, the mini album Bikin Indonesia Patent was launched. The album was re-released at the end of 2020 in cassette format via Sabda Nada.
