Courier Robbed By A Man While Taking Shelter Due To Rain In Makassar, Rp. 5 Million Is Missing
MAKASSAR - A courier in Makassar, South Sulawesi, was robbed by a man armed with an airsoft gun and a badik. Robbers brought millions of rupiah.
"The perpetrator took a cellphone, Rp 5 million in cash which was stored in the victim's bag," said Bontoala Police Chief, Police Commissioner Andriyani Lilikay, to reporters, Thursday, February 4.
The robbery occurred when the victim was delivering the customer's belongings. Because it was raining, this courier took shelter near the gas station.
"Initially the victim wanted to deliver a shipment belonging to Lazada's customer, but it was raining heavily so the victim took shelter in front of the gas station," said Andriyani.
While taking shelter, this courier was approached by a man. At first the perpetrator borrowed a match and then took the victim across the street where the victim took shelter. This robbery took place on Friday, January 29 at Jalan Ujung, Bontoala, Makassar.
"The perpetrator immediately threatened the victim by using a weapon and also a badik on his waist," continued Police Commissioner Andriyani.
After the incident, the victim immediately reported it to the police station. The police then arrested the perpetrator named Idris alias Kancing.
"The perpetrators of curas (theft and violence) were secured by members on Jalan Rajawali, Mariso District, Makassar, along with evidence of machetes and badik," he said.
