Immigration Deportation Of Egyptian Citizen Overstay
DENPASAR - The Immigration Office in Denpasar, Bali, deported a foreign national (WNA) from Egypt because he had passed the 31-day stay permit which was revealed while reporting at the police station.
"We can also do deterrence," said Denpasar Immigration Detention Center Head Babay Baenullah as quoted by ANTARA, Wednesday, September 6.
Deportation of an Egyptian foreigner with the initials AAHMH was carried out after previously the 33-year-old man reported his wife, who is an Indonesian citizen, at a police station in Denpasar on April 8, 2023.
Based on data from the Denpasar Immigration Detention Center, AAHMH had an argument with his wife at a restaurant in Denpasar, even though he was on his honeymoon.
The Egyptian foreigner then intends to report his wife at the police station and it is known that he has exceeded his stay.
The police then handed over AAHMH to the Denpasar Immigration Office.
However, because the deportation process could not be carried out immediately, Denpasar Immigration handed over AAHMH to the Denpasar Immigration Detention Center on April 10, 2023, for temporary detention.
Based on Immigration data, AAHMH entered Indonesia on January 11, 2023 through Soekarno Hatta International Airport using an on-arrival visa.
He had extended his residence permit at the Pemalang Immigration Office on February 9, 2023 and was valid until March 11, 2023.
AAHMH was then forced to return to his country at its own expense through Bali's I Gusti Ngurah Rai International Airport this Wednesday.
The Egyptian foreigner is subject to Article 78 Paragraph 2 of Law Number 6 of 2011 concerning Immigration.
Apart from being deported, he also has the potential to be prevented from entering Indonesia for life.
"However, a further deterrence decision will be decided by the Directorate General of Immigration by looking at and considering all his cases," said Babay Baenullah.
