Huawei Adopts Samsung Folding Screen For Mate Xs

JAKARTA - Folding cellphones are now king in the world smartphone market. After previously Samsung and Motorola started to enliven the cellphone market, now Huawei has begun preparing its newest folding screen device.

Launching Gizchina, the device called the Huawei Mate Xs is rumored to be adopting the folding screen used by the Samsung Galaxy Fold 2 and Z Flip. As the name suggests, the Mate Xs will be a completely new product and be the successor to the Mate X.

Later, this cellphone will have a 7.3-inch screen dimension, which will be a complement to the Huawei Mate X. This folding screen phone will also use the latest Kirin 990 HiSilicon chipset, which supports 5G networks.

The Mate Xs may be surprisingly cheaper than the Mate X. This affordable price, thanks to the use of the OLED screen that Samsung used first.

The appearance of this Mate Xs unit will also not be much different from its predecessor series. Even so, Huawei will not spend too much to market its products this time, because there is no need to do more research.

According to the leaks that have come, the Mate Xs has made several adjustments and improvements from its predecessor series. The hinge sector is now more stable, the folding screen is sturdier, the durability is higher, and the most surprising thing is that this smartphone will be slightly smaller than the Mate X.

Apart from the Mate Xs, Huawei is also reportedly working on other folding screen smartphones. It is not yet known whether Huawei will try its luck with clamshell counselors like the Galaxy Z Flip or Motorola Razr.

Even though it has a line of smartphones to be launched. Huawei chose to hold a press conference of their product online. In light of the recent COVID-19 epidemic sweeping China and other parts of the world, many cell phone manufacturers are now opting for online launch conferences.

Huawei's online launch conference will also see some of its latest mobile phones, namely the Huawei Mate Xs, Huawei MatePad Pro 5G and Mate X Pro 2020. Not only that, Huawei will also launch products such as PCs, tablets, and the Internet of Things (IoT).

Questioning the price, on October 23 last year, the Huawei Mate X sold for 16999 yuan or the equivalent of Rp.33 million. For information, Huawei events will take place online today at around 21:00 local time.
