Receiving The Green Light From Luhut, Tesla Is Ready To Send Proposals To Indonesia

JAKARTA - Tesla is increasingly interested in building a factory in Indonesia. Elon Muk's automotive company will soon send a formal proposal to Indonesia.

This information was conveyed directly by the Coordinating Minister for Maritime Affairs and Investment, Luhut Binsar Pandjaitan. He revealed that it was actually a secret matter so he could not talk at length. This is because the agreement is a secret or Non Disclosure Agreement (NDA).

"Yes, we don't know how big it is, but what we do know is that we can't disclose too much detail to the public, but we've already made video calls for six times and the NDA has been signed and I think today or tomorrow we will receive their proposal, "Luhut said as quoted on the IDX YouTube channel, Thursday, February 4.

The plan is that Tesla will send a bid proposal that includes investment value and plans to various other technical matters. RI and Tesla have had several conversations virtually.

Previously, it was reported that Tesla would send his envoy to RI in January. However, the plan had to be postponed due to the pandemic that hit the world.

According to Septian Hario Seto, Deputy of Investment & Mining at the Coordinating Ministry for Marves, said that later Tesla will invest in two things, namely battery production and energy storage systems or what is commonly referred to as an energy storage system.

For information, the energy storage system is a gigantic battery with a large scale that functions to accommodate large amounts of electric power. This serves to be a stabilizer and peaker generator.

“This is what they are also talking about. They are very advanced technology in Australia, several projects have been carried out and are very successful, ”said Septian.

He also said that Tesla's battery technology is the best when compared to CATL or LG. According to him, Tesla has more advanced battery technology. Until now, the government is still waiting for a proposal from Tesla.
