Persecutor Of Irrigation Normalization Project Workers In Dawuan Karawang Arrested By Police

"The perpetrators are actually not alone, because they carried out the action with their friends. But only one has been arrested, the rest is still being chased," said Head of Criminal Investigation Unit of the Karawang Police, AKP Arief Bastomy, as reported by ANTARA, Tuesday, September 5.
He said the arrested perpetrators had the initials R, while the other perpetrators, each with the initials P, G, and J, are still being chased by the police.
The incident against Eko Nur Syamsu (34), a Surabaya resident who is a project worker from PT Dwi Ponggo Seto, took place on Thursday, August 31, 2023, on the edge of irrigation across from the cellphone project activities in Dawuan Tengah Village.
The incident occurred because the perpetrator abused the project worker, because he was annoyed that he was not given used iron from project activities by the victim.
The perpetrators were a number of youths who lived around the village environment where the project was located.

In carrying out the action, the perpetrators hit and kicked the victim at the same time. In addition, using a wooden block directed at the victim's back.
Feeling scared, the victim then fled until he finally jumped into the irrigation canal, although he couldn't actually swim.
The victim died, and his body was found a few days after the incident.
Arief mentioned that the motive for the beating that resulted in the loss of the victim's life was because the perpetrators asked for the used iron as an environmental allotment, and the iron was asked to be sold.
For his actions, the perpetrator is now detained at the Karawang Police Headquarters, and is threatened with a maximum sentence of five years in prison, in accordance with Article 170 in conjunction with 351 paragraph 2 of the Criminal Code.
