Benny K Harman: The Democratic Party Has Closed With Anies Baswedan
JAKARTA - The Democrat Party stated that it had closed the doors of meetings to support the presidential candidate for the Change Coalition for the Association (KPP) Anies Rasyid Baswedan.
This decision was taken by the Democratic Party because Anies chose PKB Chairman Muhaimin Iskandar or Cak Imin as a vice presidential candidate unilaterally.
"For us, the Democrats have closed with Anies Baswedan," said Deputy Chairman of the Democratic Party, Benny K Harman at the DPR building, Tuesday, September 5.
Benny explained that congratulations to the Chairman of the Democratic Party Agus Harimurti Yudhoyono (AHY) to Anies and Muhaimin Iskandar as a pair of presidential and vice presidential candidates signaled that the party bearing the Mercy Star symbol had moved on.
"It's gone, we've congratulated Anies," said Benny.
Benny also emphasized that his party would no longer cooperate with the NasDem Party or PKS in the Change Coalition. According to him, the assessment of the coalition with the two political parties for the 2024 presidential election has been completed.
"Nothing like that. We're done. There's no discussion about that anymore," he said.
Previously, Anies Baswedan's spokesman, Sudirman Said, took his hat off on the attitude of the Chairman of the Democratic Party Agus Harimurti Yudhoyono (AHY) who claimed to have moved on in response to the surprising political dynamics after Anies Baswedan - Muhaimin Iskandar or Cak Imin's declaration as a pair of presidential and vice presidential candidates in 2024.
According to Sudirman, AHY has shown maturity in politics in the midst of an difficult atmosphere. It is known, Anies Baswedan chose Cak Imin as a vice presidential candidate after sending a letter to AHY to be his partner in the 2024 presidential election.
"The attitude of forgiveness and inviting all cadres to'move on' gives a signal that shows political maturity, both from the General Chair of Mas AHY and the entire ranks of the Democratic Party," said Sudirman Said in his statement, Monday, September 4.
Sudirman also prayed for AHY and the Democratic Party to find the best way to work together to continue to contribute to Indonesia's future improvements and kindness.

"The willingness to continue working together on larger national agendas is a commendable attitude, which places the interests of the nation above the subjective interests of each party," said Sudirman.
Sudirman realized that the election and presidential election were only one fragment of the management of the nation and state. If the election has not been able to cooperate, he said, there are still many big agendas that can bring together the two young figures.
"If it is for one reason or another, fate will still bring the two of them to continue working together in the 2024 General Election, the road is still wide open," he concluded.
