Sdang KEPP, Bawaslu Asks DKPP To Temporarily Dismiss KPU Chair And Members

The General Election Supervisory Agency (Bawaslu) has asked the Election Organizers Honorary Council (DKPP) to temporarily suspend the Chairman and all members of the General Elections Commission (KPU).

This was conveyed by the Chairman of Bawaslu Rahmat Bagja in his petition for the examination of alleged violations of the Election Organizer Code of Ethics (KEPP) at the DKPP office, Jakarta, Monday, September 4.

During the trial, Bagjame stated that Bawaslu asked the DKPP based on its authority to decide the following things, among others, to impose temporary dismissal sanctions on Defendant 1 Hasyim Asy'ari as chairman and concurrent KPU members.

Then, Defendant 2 Mochammad Afifuddin as a member of the KPU, Defendant 3 Betty Epsilon Idroos as a member of the KPU, Defendant 4 Parsadaan Harahap as a member of the KPU, Defendant 5 Yulianto Sudrajat as a member of the KPU, Defendant 6 Idham Holik as a member of the KPU and Defendant 7 August Mellaz as a member of the KPU.

At this trial, it was held on case Number 106-PKE-DKPP/VIII/2023 where the KPU was complained by Bawaslu in two matters that were reported, namely first, his party suspected that the KPU was limiting access to the nomination information system (Silon) in the election stage.

The KPU is said to have limited the supervisory duties carried out by Bawaslu as stipulated in the provisions of Article 93 letter d number 4 of the Election Law and Bawaslu Regulation (Perbawaslu) Number 8 of 2023 concerning the supervision of the candidacy of Members of the House of Representatives, the Provincial Regional House of Representatives, and the Regional House of Representatives of Regency/City, and Perbawaslu Number 5 of 2022 concerning supervision of the implementation of general elections.

Second, the KPU is also called Bawaslu to carry out stages outside the program and schedule of the election stages as stipulated in the provisions of the Election Law, Regulation of the General Election Commission Number (PKPU) 3 of 2022 concerning stages and schedules for holding general elections.

Then, PKPU Number 10 of 2023 concerning the nomination of Members of the House of Representatives, Members of the Provincial Regional House of Representatives and Members of the Regional House of Representatives.

Meanwhile, in this trial all the defendants were also present. Meanwhile, Bawaslu was attended by the Chairman of the Indonesian Bawaslu Rahmat Bagja and members of Lolly Suhenty and Totok Hariyono.
