Five People Killed By Liquid Nitrogen Leak At US Poultry Factory Identified As Mexican
JAKARTA - Five out of six people died in an accident at a poultry factory in the State of Georgia, United States (US). The victims were identified as Mexican citizens.
This was announced by the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Mexico on Wednesday, February 3. The State Department described the incident that occurred at a Foundation Food Group factory in Gainesville, about 97 kilometers northeast of Atlanta at the end of last month.
The incident was allegedly due to a liquid nitrogen leak. Five people died immediately, while a sixth person died after being taken to hospital.
Mexico's Foreign Ministry said in a statement that local authorities had now identified all six people who were killed. "Five of them are Mexican nationals".
The Mexican government has been paying close attention to the conditions of Mexican workers who work in meat processing plants in the US.
