Silence Burnley 2-0, Manchester City Picked 9 Consecutive Wins And Was Steady At The Top

JAKARTA - Manchester City continued their positive trend when silencing the hosts Burnley with a score of 2-0 in the 22nd Premier League match at the Turf Moor Stadium, Burnley, England, Wednesday local time (Thursday WIB).

Gabriel Jesus and Raheem Sterling's goals mean City are now picking up nine straight wins in a streak of 13 games unbeaten to solidify their top spot with 47 points.

It was not even three minutes before Jesus put City ahead when he was positioned to head in to head home a Bernardo Silva shot that was not completely stopped by goalkeeper Nick Pope.

City's lead finally doubled in the 38th minute when Ilkay Gundogan turned Mahrez's ball into a cross which Sterling finished with an easy shot in front of goal.

City tried to get away early in the second half, but Gundogan's shot was overturned while Sterling's shot was cleared by Pope with his foot.

Like when they were defeated by Chelsea in the previous match, Burnley could not do much to threaten the City goal and The Citizens' advantage lasted until the end.

Burnley will next host Brighton & Hove Albion on Saturday, February 6, while City will play an important match a day later at the headquarters of defending champions, Liverpool.
