Attorney General's Office Focuses On Hunting Down PT Asabri's Corruption Proceeds Abroad
JAKARTA - The Attorney General's Directorate for Investigations for Special Crimes (Jampidsus) is currently focusing on the search for assets of suspects in cases of suspected corruption in financial management and investment funds at PT Asuransi Sosial Angkatan Perjuangan Republik Indonesia (Asabri) abroad.
"It will be more intense, it will be more concentrated on assets that have strong indications outside," Febrie Ardiansyah, Director of Investigation at Jampidsus, told reporters, Wednesday, February 3.
So far, investigators are still mapping the suspect's assets that are suspected of originating from a criminal act. However, Febrie was reluctant to mention the shape and location of the asset.
"Still being chased. There are several assets that have been mapped, but it is still a secret for investigators," he said.
Previously, the Coordinating Minister for Political, Legal and Security Affairs (Menkopolhukam) Mahfud MD said the assets of the suspect in the alleged corruption case of PT Asabri in Solo, Pontianak, and Singapore.
The Attorney General's Office will form a special team to track down the assets of the suspected PT Asabri corruption suspects.
"So we hope that there will be progress abroad. That's why we have already encouraged the team, maybe tomorrow there will be submissions for the formation of a special team abroad," said Febrie.
