PPKM Jakarta Ineffective, Chairman Of DPRD: The Problem Is Not DKI Residents But Residents Who Support Bodetabek
JAKARTA - Jakarta DPRD Chairman Prasetyo Edi Marsudi admitted that the implementation of restrictions on community activities (PPKM) in Jakarta is not effective. The cause is not only from the transmission of COVID-19 from the citizens of the capital city.
According to Prasetyo, some of the contributors to the corona virus cases in Jakarta came from residents who live in buffer areas such as Bogor, Depok, Tangerang and Bekasi (Bodetabek).
"The problem for DKI is not DKI people as well, but DKI supporters going to Jakarta. That is what must be resolved as well, apart from DKI," said Prasetyo at the DPRD DKI Building, Central Jakarta, Wednesday, February 3.
In addition, another factor that has resulted in the high number of COVID-19 cases in DKI is that 30 percent of COVID-19 patients treated at DKI referral hospitals are buffer residents.
As a result, there are some DKI residents who have difficulty finding a COVID-19 treatment bed, both in isolation and in the ICU room.
"The Jakarta hospital is now filled with Jakarta supporters. That is also a problem. So, if the data collection for Jakarta is purely a Jakarta person, I don't think it is like the current condition," said Prasetio.
Therefore, Prasetio asked local governments in the Bodetabek region to better discipline health protocol compliance.
In addition, he also asked DKI Jakarta Governor Anies Baswedan to be more firm in monitoring compliance with health protocols for buffer residents entering Jakarta.
"PPKM in Bogor, Depok, Bekasi, it must be orderly there. If you don't enter Jakarta orderly, it's useless," said Prasetio.
"So, I ask the Governor to be more assertive. We have a Forkompimda (Regional Leadership Communication Forum). Kumpulin forkompinda, what should we do. I think it can be minimized," he continued.
