UIN Allaudin Makassar Investigates The Case Of Lecturer Asking For Ornamental Plants For Thesis Consultation Requirements

MAKASSAR - The Alauddin Islamic University (UIN) Makassar, South Sulawesi, formed a team to investigate the case of a lecturer asking to bring ornamental plants as a requirement for thesis consultation.

This case was revealed after a snippet of a WhatsApp conversation from a lecturer in the Department of Pharmacy, Faculty of Medicine and Health Sciences, UIN Makassar, circulated in social media. These ornamental plants are used as unscrupulous lecturers for conducting thesis consultations.

Dean of the Faculty of Medicine and Health Sciences (FKIK) UIN Alauddin Makassar Dr. dr. Syatirah Jalauddin, confirmed this incident. Information about individual lecturers asking for ornamental plants as a requirement for thesis consultation has been submitted to the Rector of UIN Alauddin Makassar.

The campus has also scheduled to call students who are 'victims' of depositing ornamental plants to lecturers during their thesis consultation.

"For now we are temporarily forming a small team at the faculty to investigate the case," said Syatirah Jalauddin to reporters, Wednesday, February 3.

Syatirah said the results of the investigation by the small team would later be fully submitted to the university's Code of Ethics Enforcement Commission (KPKE) for processing.

"Whatever the result, we will submit it to the KPKE for processing," he said.
