Anies Baswedan: Wearing A Mask Is Uncomfortable, But It Is More Uncomfortable To Get COVID-19
JAKARTA - DKI Jakarta Governor Anies Baswedan said wearing a mask was uncomfortable. However, he considered that masks were the strongest protection to prevent transmission of COVID-19 apart from vaccination.
In the '(Jakarta Mask) Jakarta Masker' event held at Polda Metro Jaya,
he said that his party supported the campaign to use this mask. However, the former Minister of Education and Culture did not deny that there were still many people who thought that wearing a mask at every activity was uncomfortable because it was humid, hot, especially in places without air conditioning.
"That wearing a mask is not good. Wearing a mask is not something to be happy about. Wearing a mask is humid, hot, especially in a place that is not air conditioned but I can testify here. I have experienced it. It is much more uncomfortable to get COVID", said Anies. in the event, Wednesday, March 3.
"Uncomfortable of wearing a mask is still more comfortable than to get COVID-19", he added.
So, he asked all parties without exception to use masks even though there was discomfort when using them. "It's our good. This mask is for our health", he said.
Anies also said that wearing a mask was a form of respect for others. Because by using masks, the community has protected the people around them.
"Without using masks, it means that we do not respect others. We do not protect other people", he said.
"So we need to campaign that masking is respecting people, masking is protecting others, wearing a mask is a sign of our concern for everyone's health", he concluded.
