Accused Of Stealing A Motorbike, TV Employees Persecuted Until The Epilepsy Wasmat In Pulogadung
JAKARTA - A man with the initials YA (38), a resident of Bekasi City, became a victim of persecution because he was thought to have stolen a motorbike in the Pulogadung Industrial Estate, East Jakarta. The incident caused a stir after amateur video footage circulated on Instagram social media.
In the video description, it was stated that the man who was wrongly arrested was suspected of having epilepsy. Recorded in the video, a man in a shirt shot the victim with his knee.
Cakung Police Chief Kompol Syarifah Chaira said the incident occurred in the Pulogadung industrial area, Jalan Rawa Terate II, Jatinegara Village, Cakung District, East Jakarta on Tuesday, August 22 at around 20.00 WIB.
Initially the victim with the initials YA (38), who is an employee on one of the private TVs, walked from his workplace. Then he stopped in front of the PT KIM office located on Jalan Rawa Terate II, Jatinegara Village, Cakung District.
"Arriving at the scene, the victim was sitting on a motorbike belonging to an employee of PT. KIM who was parked at the scene. The victim only intended to rest," said Kompol Syarifah when confirmed by VOI, Thursday, August 24.
But suddenly, because the victim had a history of epilepsy, his illness suddenly recurred with the characteristics of an unconscious person.

"Feeling suspicious of the victim who was sitting on the employee's motorbike, then the witness with the initials ESA and a security guard PT KIM approached the victim intending to ask about his activities," he said.
However, because his epilepsy recurred, the victim could not answer and only looked at the victim holding the motorcycle key.
"As long as the victim's motorbike belongs to the victim. But because the motorbike did not actually belong to the victim, the victim was suspected of stealing a motorbike," he said.
Then the victim was secured by security PT KIM and taken to the security post. However, the victim had rebelled until the perpetrator with the initials AAE (21) a Cakung resident who was at the crime scene came.
"AAE perpetrator immediately beat the victim until the victim fell and suddenly the victim's epilepsy recurred worse," he said.
However, because the victim was still wearing a Tv One jacket, security then contacted the television company. "The witness contacted the television company and it turned out that the victim was indeed an employee of a television company. The victim was then taken to the Clinic, while the perpetrator and the witness were taken to the Pol Pol Pol Sub-Sector Pulogadung Industrial Estate," he explained.
"The victim wanted to forgive the perpetrator, the victim realized that the incident was due to a relapse of his epilepsy, causing a misunderstanding. Furthermore, the problem was stated in a statement signed by the victim. In the letter it was written that the problem was resolved amicably," he said.
To avoid recurring incidents, Kompol Syarifah appealed to the public not to take judicial action if there were any problems.
"If there is a misunderstanding, avoid harmful actions. Use third parties to mediate or go to the nearest police station," he appealed.
