There Is Paving Of The Formula E Circuit At Monas When There Are Still Problems
JAKARTA - In the midst of the polemic of determining the current location of Formula E, it turns out that there is a paving circuit in the east of the National Monument (Monas) area, Central Jakarta. The black asphalt is installed on natural stone (cobblestone).
Observation at the location, asphalt was made with a length of 4 meters and a width of 5 meters. Thus, it does not cover the road completely, but only a part of the road size.
If seen, the asphalt is not completely dry. However, the asphalt is not given a barrier, so that some visitors often pass on it.
Even though the asphalt is made together, there are two types of asphalt that are installed. On the left, there is a layer of white fiber cloth between the natural stone and the asphalt. On the right, the asphalt immediately covers the natural stone and is coated twice.
Deputy Director of Communications Formula E Jakarta Propertindo Hilbram Dunar explained that the asphalting was carried out last night. Meanwhile, the installation of two different types of paving, he said, was deliberately carried out. These methods are sandsheet and geotextile.
"This is done to determine which one is the most effective when it is returned to the cobble stone," Hilbram said when confirmed, Saturday, February 22.
However, the asphalting that is being carried out by JakPro is only a trial. He said the asphalts would be dismantled again on Wednesday, February 26.
"After being reviewed, we will choose which one is the most efficient. Then, the asphalting location will begin," he said.
Deputy for Technical Affairs of Formula E Jakarta added that in other Formula E hosting countries, asphalt coating on cobblestone was carried out in Paris, France and in Rome, Italy.
“In Paris, the Formula E circuit circles the site of Les Invalides which is 350 years old. So after each Formula E title, the asphalt is peeled off and returns to normal, "continued Wisnu.
For information, determining the location of Formula E at Monas has caused problems. This polemic originated from the chaotic recommendations for the implementation of Formula E in cultural heritage areas, namely the National Monument (Monas).
DKI Jakarta Governor Anies Baswedan submitted the Formula E recommendation letter to the Medan Merdeka Area Steering Committee. In writing, the party providing the recommendation is the Cultural Heritage Expert Team (TACB).
In fact, TACB Chairman Mundardjito denied having made a recommendation. Anies' men also admitted their mistake because they carelessly mistyped the name of the institution. DKI Regional Secretary Saefullah said that the recommendation written should be the Restoration Session Team (TSP).
"There was a mistake from our technical team. So, when it was included in the letter format, the wrong perception was that TSP should have become TACB," said Saefullah.
All the chaos in the process of recommending the implementation of Formula E made the PDIP faction of the DKI DPRD reject the race to be held at Monas.
This rejection, said member of the PDIP faction Merry Hotma, was accompanied by concern that later Formula E organizers would not be able to restore the Monas area to its original state.
"The definition of cultural heritage is not only the Monas monument but the entire area is cultural heritage. I voiced the PDIP faction to reject the Formula being implemented in the cultural heritage area of the Monas area. This is too complicated," said Merry.
The rejection of Formula E being held at Monas was not only made by the PDIP. After the meeting, DKI TACB Chair Mundardjito agreed with the opinion of the DKI DPRD Chairman Prasetio Edi Marsudi that Monas is a national cultural heritage.
Mundardjito said, there are regulations that are higher than Kepgub No. 1443 of 2017 concerning TACB and TSP, namely Law No. 11 of 2010 concerning Cultural Heritage. In the Cultural Conservation Law, the party entitled to provide recommendations on an object of cultural heritage is TACB.
Considering that Monas is a national cultural heritage, Formula E recommendations must also be provided by the National TACB. "I think there should be a recommendation from the National TACB. But, in general, the National TACB does not make a recommendation at Monas," said Mundardjito.
That way, even though he admitted that he was not asked for a recommendation, Mundardjito firmly refused to hold Formula E at Monas.
"So, don't put it in monas. Anyway, Monas cultural heritage for me is sacred. If someone competes in a car racing with the sound (engine) 'sroong sroong', it seems inappropriate," he said.
