Megawati Alludes To Pollution In Jakarta: I Coughed Up
JAKARTA - General Chairperson of the PDI-P (PDIP) Megawati Soekarnoputri spoke about air conditions in Jakarta. He admitted that he coughed and was allergic to pollution.
This was conveyed during his speech when he inaugurated the statue of the 1st President of the Republic of Indonesia Soekarno or Bung Karno at Omah Petroek, Wonorejo Hamlet, Pakem, Yogyakarta, Wednesday, August 23.
Initially, he mentioned the air in the Pakem area. According to him, the conditions are different from in Jakarta.
"Soon, yes, this (his air refers to the Wonorejo area, ed)," Megawati said as quoted from her written statement.
The 5th President of the Republic of Indonesia then told that he was disturbed by pollution in Jakarta. "I like coughing, dust allergies, pollution allergies, right, oh my," said Megawati.
He then discussed air issues, especially in the capital city of the archipelago (IKN) with President Joko Widodo (Jokowi). Megawati hopes that the conditions there will not change like Jakarta.
Until I told Pak Jokowi, Pak Jokowi, IKN was fresh opo ora? Yes, right, he can speak Javanese, "he said imitating his conversation with Jokowi.
From the discussion, Megawati asked for a lot of reforestation to be carried out at IKN. Although it is not easy because it is slow but she reminded that massive tree planting is an obligation.
"Yes, you know, sir. Peat, that's, the water is acidic, not wet, so it's difficult to plant trees," concluded the Chairman of the Steering Committee of the National Research and Innovation Agency (BRIN).
