KPU Surprise Machfud Arifin Sues Surabaya Pilkada To MK Even Though During The Recapitulation Of Votes No Protests
JAKARTA - The General Election Commission (KPU) of the City of Surabaya said that the Machfud Arifin (MA) -Mujiaman pair did not object to the results of the votes set in the recapitulation of the city-level vote count results.
"The Petitioner did not in the least deny the vote acquisition of each pair of candidates that had been signed by the witnesses of the petitioner," said Surabaya City KPU attorney Sri Sugeng Pujiatmiko in the trial of the 2020 simultaneous regional election results dispute at the Constitutional Court (MK) building, Jakarta, Tuesday, 2 February.
Sri Sugeng said the city-level vote count recapitulation on December 15-17 2020 was attended by sub-district election committees (PPK) throughout Surabaya, Bawaslu, and all witnesses of candidate pairs.
According to the attorney for the Surabaya City KPU, all witnesses from the pair of candidates, including the mandate witness Machfud Arifin-Mujiaman, signed the District / City Results Model D Form.
For this reason, the KPU of the City of Surabaya considers the vote acquisition contained in Form D of the KWK regency / city results as outlined in the decision of the Surabaya City KPU regarding the determination of the recapitulation of vote count results on December 17, 2020 at 12.47 WIB valid and remains valid.
In accordance with the results of the Surabaya City KPU recapitulation, Eri-Armuji won 597,540 votes, while Machfud Arifin-Mujiaman got 451,794 votes, with a total of 1,049,334 valid votes.
Apart from that, the KPU of the City of Surabaya considered the request for candidate pair number 02 Machfud Arifin-Mujiaman to be unclear because of the inconsistency between the argument and the request.
"Posita argued for 20 sub-districts. However, the petitum asked for a re-vote in 31 districts," said Sri Sugeng Pujiatmiko.
In his petition, Machfud Arifin-Mujiaman argued that the implementation of the Election for the Mayor and Deputy Mayor of Surabaya was marked by structured, systematic and massive violations (TSM), including the involvement of the city government in facilitating candidate pair number 01 Eri Cahyadi-Armudji.
