Police Arrest Paspampres Fake Recidivist Case Of Fraud

JAKARTA - The police have arrested someone suspected of being a member of the fake presidential security force (Paspampres) who is also a recidivist of the fraud case with the initials KN (39) in Cileungsi, Bogor, West Java.

"KN was arrested by officers at his residence in the Cileungsi area, Bogor, West Java on January 8, 2021," said Head of Criminal Investigation Unit of the Central Jakarta Metro Police, AKBP Burhanuddin, quoted by Antara, Tuesday, February 1.

This case originated from a victim's report of alleged fraud on January 5, 2021. The victim knew the perpetrator on social media with the aim of buying and selling motorbikes near the Paspamres Headquarters on Jalan Tanah Abang II, Gambir, Central Jakarta.

When meeting the victim, the perpetrator convinced the victim by claiming to be a member of the Paspampres.

"When meeting the victim, the perpetrator wore shoes, pants and t-shirts similar to TNI members. Before the transaction, the perpetrator pretended to test his motorbike and then took the victim's motorbike," he said.

The exploration was continued, it turned out that the victim's motorbike had been sold to the collector so that not long after the examination, three other people were arrested, namely HS (41), TS (43), and UY (27).

HS and TS act as intermediaries or collectors for KN motors. The victim's motorbike with police number B 5052 BAG was finally returned and became complete evidence with TNI attributes that KN used to carry out the action.

"This recidivist has repeatedly done the same thing and was punished with the same case. Therefore, we apply Article 378 concerning fraud with a threat of four years," said Burhanuddin.
