The Ministry Of PUPR Calls MUT Innovation In IKN Can Be Adopted By Other Cities
JAKARTA - The development of the State Capital (IKN) of the Archipelago is known to use the infrastructure innovation of the Integrated Utilities Network (SJUT) or multi-utility tunnel (MUT).
Chairman of the IKN Infrastructure Development Task Force (Satgas), Ministry of PUPR Danis Sumadilaga, revealed that the MUT infrastructure innovation can be imitated by other cities in Indonesia.
"This MUT for IKN (built) on the main road, is divided into three compartments. Here (IKN) happens to be connected to a road channel or drainage, not all MUTs in this world can be connected, there are channels that are separate, but for practical purposes, we connect them. The concept is, this can be imitated by other cities," said Danis, Saturday, August 19.
Danis said the MUT was built under the main road and divided into three compartments. The MUT construction in IKN is also integrated with a road drainage channel. Each part of the MUT compartment has a height of about 2.2 meters (m) and can be entered by two adults.
"So, in essence, how to ensure that utilities are safe. This can be imitated by other cities and even in Jakarta there are already in Sudirman-Thamrin," he said.
This is of course a standard development, because there is no longer the installation of cables in the air for IKN Nusantara or piles of pipes underground illegally. MUT is one of the innovations built by the government to realize IKN as a modern city.
According to Danis, MUT is a long-term investment that can provide opportunities for urban planning to be effective and efficient.
The construction of the MUT is a government policy to make activities in IKN better and is expected to be followed by other cities in Indonesia.
The development of IKN as the capital city of Indonesia started from scratch, so that the development policies were prepared and matured properly, one of which was the construction of the MUT for utilities.
"All IKN development designs are regulated in laws and regulations," said Danis.

Danis said this innovation could be adopted by other cities in Indonesia. Thus, incidents of taking victims due to piles of chaotic cables do not happen again, especially in big cities such as DKI Jakarta.
"Actually, how to ensure that utilities are safe, don't dig again later, someone gets cabled again, and God willing, the utility is telephone cables, PLN cables, drinking water, all drinking water pipes, God willing, in IKN this is underground, including gas networks as well," he concluded.
