Gubsu Edy Says PPKM Is Ineffective: People Don't Want To Follow Rules
MEDAN - The Governor of North Sumatra (Gubsu) Edy Rahmayadi said that the implementation of restrictions on community activities (PPKM) was indeed ineffective. This is because community mobility remains high.
"Why is it still weak, because the people don't want to follow the rules," said Governor Edy, Tuesday, February 2.
To reduce the spread of COVID-19, Edy said the government had tried hard.
"We have been doing this for a year, every night we do sweeping, discipline the community, night business. But the implementation is still cat and mouse," he said.
According to Governor Edy, to prevent the spread of COVID-19, participation from all levels of society is needed.
"We should join hands together to carry out discipline, education, and socialization to the community. So that COVID-19 can be stopped, press. Our task now is to discipline, so we can overcome COVID-19 exposure," he said.
Edy also asked the mass media to help and supervise the implementation of health protocols and PPKM activities in the community.
"Reporters should come too, do it, hey this company, why are you still open at night. We are not strong enough to do everything, the regencies / cities also come together to solve this all," he said.
