Three Roads In Surabaya Will Be Closed In Order To Maximize The Restrictions Of Community Activities,

SURABAYA - Three roads in the city of Surabaya will be closed within a week before the end of phase 2 of the Restrictions on Community Activities (PPKM). One road in between will be closed on weekends.

"The closure of this road is to maximize the Restrictions on Community Activities that is less than a week away. Because yesterday the President considered it to be less effective", said Head of Surabaya Police Traffic, AKBP Teddy Candra, confirmed, Tuesday, February 2.

Teddy explained that the roads that are closed were Jalan Raya Darmo, Tunjungan, and Mayjend Sungkono. The three roads were previously closed during the first phase of the Restrictions on Community Activities, but they are now being reinstated.

"But specifically for Jalan Mayjend Sungkono, it is only closed on weekends", he said.

Jalan Mayjend Sungkoni will be closed starting in front of the General Election Office (KPU) in Surabaya City, to the front of the Satellite Roundabout in two lanes with a radius of about 3 kilometers. However, there are certain exceptions, the roads will be opened specifically for people with urgent needs or emergencies.

"If it is an emergency with urgent needs, the public may pass", he said.

It is different from the two roads in Darmo and Tunjungan. Where the closure of the two roads will be carried out because they are often crowded with vehicles, and become a place for large crowds of people.

"So we will close it, and the time will be set when it is opened and closed. What is clear is that we will close it every day until the end of the Restrictions on Community Activities", he said.

The closure of the two roads, continued Teddy, will be carried out on working days starting at 22.00 to 05.00 WIB. Then, on the weekends, it will start earlier, which is at 20.00 until 08.00 WIB.

"The hours will start at 22.00 to 08.00 WIB", he said.
