IOS 14.5 Beta Update Bring App Privacy Transparency

JAKARTA - Apple launched the iOS 14.5 developer beta yesterday, Monday, February 1. This latest version of iOS comes with several new features. One of the features that many observers look forward to is a privacy transparency tracker app.

This brand-new application will display a notification if there are other party applications and websites that want to track user data. In addition, this application will also ask for user permission regarding data tracking activities from other platforms.

For example, when a user opens Facebook, a notification will appear on the screen explaining that the Facebook application wants to track device activity data. Later, two menu options will appear, namely 'Request Application Not to Track' or 'Allow'.

The iOS 14.5 Beta version is available for developers via an update which can be accessed in Settings. If this update hasn't appeared, you can wait first and always check every time. The reason is, it takes time to launch the latest iOS version to all registered developers.

How to Update iOS 14.5

Every device registered as a developer can already get this update. However, Apple warns against running iOS 14.5 on older or low-spec devices.

If you are already registered as a developer, you can directly open the developer.apple.com/download page via the device. Then download the file by pressing the button provided.

IPhone users who are not registered as developers can also access the beta version of this latest iOS operating system. Users can simply access the Apple Beta Software Program page via the iPhone, then create a beta account, then download the available beta files.

New iOS 14.5 Features

Apart from the privacy transparency tracking feature, Apple also added several new features to this update. Launching the 9to5Mac team search, here are the excellent features on iOS 14.5:

Unlock the Lock Screen Using Apple Watch

Due to the adoption of new habits, now we are forced to wear masks while traveling. Unfortunately, masks actually affect Face ID performance. Based on the experience of many users, this iPhone security feature often fails to identify the face covered by a mask.

The difficulty was resolved by the company on iOS 14.5. Instead of using Face ID to unlock the screen, iOS 14.5 provides an option using the Apple Watch. No need to type in your PIN, code combination, or fingerprint.

To activate this feature, open the Settings application, select the Face ID & Passcode menu, then slide to Google on the Unlock with Apple Watch menu.

AirPlay 2 support for Fitness +

One of the downsides of Apple's fitness service is that it can only be accessed via the iPhone, iPad, or Apple TV. Users cannot access via Mac or other brands of smart televisions.

Through iOS 14.5, iPhone users can now stream fitness content via iPhone, iPad, and other AirPlay 2-supported devices. There are now many options for smart televisions that are supported by AirPlay 2. And this convenience will make Fitness + free from restrictions.
