Due To Cigarette Profits, Hotels In The Commander Of South Jakarta Polim Burned, Three People Died
JAKARTA - As many as three people died in a fire that occurred at a hotel in the Panglima Polim area, Kebayoran Baru, South Jakarta. The three victims who died were suspected of being trapped in smoke that rose on the second floor of the hotel.
Three people were taken to Fatmawati Hospital after being declared dead. Allegedly because they were caught in smoke, the Kebayoran Baru Police Chief, Kompol Tribuana, when confirmed, Friday, August 18.
Tribuana said the fire broke out on Friday, August 18, in the early hours of the morning. When the incident occurred, there were five hotel rooms filled. In that room, each of the hotel rooms was filled by two people.
Until now, the identity of the tenant is not yet known, including the victim who died.
"While we have not been able to provide information, the results of the statement from the firefighters that the cause of the fire was on the second floor," he said
Tribuana said, to find out the cause of the fire, his party would check the owner and the hotel security.
"From the hotel owner, manager and security checked," he said.

Meanwhile, Sukur Sawarno firefighters in his statement said that the fire allegedly came from cigarette butts in the hotel lobby.
"The cause of the fire was cigarette butts," said Sawarno.
A total of 85 personnel and 20 fire engines were deployed. As a result, the fire was extinguished on Friday, August 18, at 02.40 WIB.
"Initially the blackout was 00.00 WIB then the blackout was over at 02.40 WIB," he concluded.
