PPP Regarding Golkar-PAN Joining The Gerindra-PKB Coalition: Goodbye KIB!
JAKARTA - The chairman of the PPP Advisory Council, Romahurmuziy, said that the United Indonesia Coalition (KIB) which his party had formed with the Golkar Party and PAN could be said to have disbanded because the two parties had joined the Gerindra Party and PKB coalitions.
From the start, Romy said that KIB would automatically disband if these three parties had turned and expressed their support for the presidential candidate promoted by other parties.
Now, Golkar and PAN have supported Gerindra Chairman Prabowo Subianto to become presidential candidates. Meanwhile, PPP also moved to support Ganjar Pranowo who had been promoted by PDIP.
"With the official support of PAN and the Golkar Party to Pak Prabowo today, it is automatically today that the inauguration of the disbandment of KIB aka goodbye KIB," Romy said in his statement, Sunday, August 13.
Romy admitted that he was not surprised by the closeness of Golkar and PAN in the Gerindra-PKB coalition. PPP, continued Romy, had predicted from the start that PAN would choose a coalition that had a great opportunity to make Erick Thohir a vice presidential candidate (cawapres).
Meanwhile, the PDIP opportunity to elect the SOE Minister as Ganjar's vice presidential candidate was seen as smaller.
"PAN support is a consequence of the possibility that Mr. Erick will be partnered with Mr. Prabowo. So, we have long predicted that PAN will have an option where Mr. Erick is anchored," Romy explained.
Meanwhile, PPP has predicted that Golkar will be involved with Gerindra because Prabowo was once a cadre of the Golkar Party, before Prabowo founded the Gerindra Party.

"If we have heard about the Golkar Party, we have heard that Mr. Prabowo will go to Pak Prabowo because it is chemistry, the Golkar Party is closer to Gerindra. Given, Pak Prabowo used to be a Golkar cadre. The former Golkar was founded by the late Pak Harto who was also Pak Prabowo's father-in-law," he explained.
Today, the Golkar Party and PAN declared their support for Prabowo Subianto to become a presidential candidate in the 2024 General Election. With this support, Golkar and PAN officially docked with the Gerindra and PKB coalitions.
