Witness Of The Corruption Case Of The Hajj Dormitory Project Returns Rp200 Million To The Bengkulu Prosecutor's Office
BENGKULU - The Special Criminal Investigation Team (Pidsus) of the Bengkulu High Prosecutor's Office (Kejati) received a deposit of Rp. 200 million from the witness with the initials M in the alleged corruption case in the construction of the Bengkulu Hajj Dormitory in 2020.
"Today we again received a state loss deposit of Rp. 200 million related to the hajj dormitory project. Where this is part of a criminal act of corruption committed by several people," said Bengkulu Chief of the Bengkulu Attorney General's Office Heri Germany accompanied by the Head of the Bengkulu Attorney General's Special Crime Investigation Section, Danang Prasetyo, as reported by ANTARA, Thursday, August 10.
He said that the total money deposited with the Bengkulu High Prosecutor's Office was related to the alleged corruption case in the case of the Hajj dormitory which caused state losses of Rp. 725 million.
"So witness M was previously a private company with a fee to borrow the company's flag. Because those who gave the company's flag felt guilty, the fee was returned again," said Heri.
Previously, the Bengkulu High Prosecutor's Office (Kejati) received Rp75 million which was handed over by one of the witnesses in the corruption case of the Hajj dormitory project with a budget of 2020-2021 on August 3, 2023.
Meanwhile, on July 13, the Bengkulu Prosecutor's Office received a deposit of Rp. 450 million from a contract-breaking contractor in the alleged corruption case in the construction of a hajj dormitory in 2020, namely PT Bahana Krida Nusantara.
The money was handed over to the temporary holding account which was then used as evidence in the corruption case.
The Bengkulu Prosecutor's Office of Investigation Team has named the Director of PT Bahana Krida Nusantara (BKN), namely SU as a suspect in the alleged corruption of the Bengkulu Hajj Dormitory revitalization and development project for the 2020-2021 fiscal year.
Furthermore, for the temporary estimation of state losses, related to the corruption case of the Hajj hostel project in 2020, it reached Rp1.7 billion.
In 2020 the Ministry of Religion through the Bengkulu Provincial Ministry of Religion Regional Office distributed funds amounting to Rp38 billion for the revitalization and developer of Bengkulu Hajj dormitories.
