The Governor Of Aceh Expects The Presence Of Sharia Banks To Narrow The Space For Moneylenders
JAKARTA - Aceh Governor Nova Iriansyah hopes that the spread of Islamic banking services in Aceh, along with the presence of the Indonesian Sharia Bank, can narrow the space for unscrupulous moneylenders or middlemen who make profits with very high interest money loans.
"We hope that with the spread of Islamic banking services throughout Aceh, it will be able to narrow the space for moneylenders," said Governor Nova Iriansyah while receiving a visit to the management of PT Bank Syariah Indonesia (BSI) Aceh region in Meuligoe, Governor of Aceh, Banda Aceh. , quoted from Antara, Monday, February 1.
He explained that he supports and appreciates the merger of three state-owned Islamic banks, namely BRI Syariah, Bank Syariah Mandiri, and BNI Syariah into Bank Syariah Indonesia.
He said the bank could operate side by side with the Aceh Government's existing Islamic bank, namely Bank Aceh Syariah.
The governor also hopes that the employees who previously worked under the three Islamic banks will not be dismissed and can continue their work, as before.
"Hopefully there will be no termination of employment for the sons and daughters of Aceh who previously worked there," said the Governor.
Chairman of Bank Syariah Indonesia, Aceh region, Nana Hendriana said PT BSI will officially operate after previously holding a mega merger with 3 state-owned sharia banks, namely BRI Syariah, BNI Syariah, and Bank Mandiri Syariah.
