Welcoming The U-17 World Cup, The Ministry Of PUPR Will Repair Banteng Square To Arcamanik
JAKARTA - The Ministry of Public Works and Public Housing (PUPR) will repair six training fields to welcome the 2023 U-17 World Cup.
PUPR Minister Basuki Hadimuljono said there were two training fields that got some notes from FIFA.
Both are Lapangan Banteng and Soemantri Brodjonegoro.
"These two fields get several notes from FIFA starting from field grass, players' changing rooms, stadium lights, and there are 6-7 other notes made by PUPR," said PUPR Minister Basuki Hadimuljono to reporters, Wednesday, August 9.
Basuki said, for Bandung, there is an additional training ground, namely the Arcamanik Field and ITB Field. Both fields also get records from FIFA for immediate follow-up.
Meanwhile, in Solo, the Ministry of PUPR will repair two additional fields, namely Blulukan Field and Sebelas Maret University Field.
"God willing, it will be finished in due time, because November 10 (U-17 World Cup event). So, I think the preparations have narrowed. We already know what we are doing in accordance with the results of the FIFA inspection," said Basuki.
He added that the Ministry of PUPR allocated a budget of Rp. 100 billion for the construction of the six stadiums.
"If the renovation of the six stadiums is not too big, this is not more than Rp. 100 billion," said Basuki.
On the same occasion, the Minister of SOEs and the General Chair of PSSI Erick Thohir said that there were 93 days left for the 2023 U-17 World Cup.
"Because the preparations are short and there are also things that are agreed upon whether funding, logistics, and others, we want to be as efficient as possible," he said.
He added that FIFA will discuss proposals from Indonesia for four main venues, namely the Jakarta International Stadium (JIS), Jalak Harupat Bandung, Gelora Bung Tomo Surabaya, and Manahan Solo.
PSSI proposed Jakarta and Bandung to be two group matches, including those in Jalak Harupat Bandung.
For Solo and Surabaya, a group match is proposed, but the last 16-18 matches will all be held in Solo.
"The records from FIFA because in Jakarta there are two match groups, the training field must be increased from four to six training fields," he said.
Meanwhile, for matches in Bandung, FIFA also sees the need for additional two training fields, namely in Arcamanik and ITB. Especially in Solo, there will be additional training opportunities.
"God willing, from FIFA, the big team will be present in Indonesia on August 26, after the women's soccer world championship in Australia. This big team will make decisions that of course we as hosts must accelerate," he said.
