Kans Sandiaga Jadi Cawapres Ganjar Dianggap Open Lebar Usai Manuver Erick Thohir Diulas Lewat Podcast Tempo

JAKARTA - The chance for the Minister of Tourism and Creative Economy (Menparekraf) Sandiaga Uno to become a candidate for vice president (cawapres) accompanying the Governor of Central Java (Central Java) Ganjar Pranowo in the upcoming 2024 Presidential Election (Pilpres) is considered to strengthen after the Minister of State-Owned Enterprises (BUMN) Erick Thohir has problems with the content of the Tempo podcast "Bocor Alus Politik".

The podcast content discusses Manuver Erick Thohir Via PSSI and BUMN Who Are Not Liked by PDIP' and then Erick Thohir reported it to the Press Council. Erick assessed that the show did not meet the journalistic working principles and the journalist's code of ethics.

The mediation process in the Tempo podcast dispute with Erick gave birth to a decision that found Tempo guilty. The mediation process of the Press Council which took place on Monday, July 17 stated that Tempo violated three articles of the code of ethics.

The content created by the Tempo podcast team violates Article 1, Article 2, and Article 3 of the Journalistic Code of Ethics (KEJ). The content is also declared unbalanced, the source is unclear, does not test information, mixing facts and opinions, is also a judge. Erick-Tempo's decision to settle the mediation has been received by Erick's lawyer, Ifdhal Kasim.

A political observer from Al Azhar University, Ujang Komarudin, said that this would have a little effect on Erick's election as Ganjar's assistant vice presidential candidate.

According to him, Erick should have behaved better when dealing with the media.

"It's a little big influence there is an impact, right? The media should be friends. It must be good with the media. The size of it could have an impact," said Ujang in a written statement, Tuesday, August 8.

For this incident, Ujang assessed that Sandiaga was more likely to accompany Ganjar at this time. The reason, continued Ujang, is that PPP, which is a political party where Sandi currently belongs, has officially collaborated with PDIP to officially carry Ganjar.

According to him, Erick has also taken anticipatory steps if he is not elected to accompany Ganjar, namely by trying to become a vice presidential candidate accompanying the Minister of Defense (Menhan) Prabowo Subianto.

"Sandi is more likely, because Sandi is from PPP who has a coalition with PDIP. That's why Erick's strategy if he doesn't become Ganjar's vice presidential candidate, Erick wants to be Prabowo's vice presidential candidate," he said.

For information, PDIP Chair Puan Maharani stated that the candidate for vice presidential candidate accompanying Ganjar had narrowed to five names. The list of candidates for the vice presidential candidate who will accompany Ganjar has narrowed from the original 10 names.

"In the past there were 10 names, now they have narrowed to 5 names," said Puan after attending the PKB birthday event in Solo on Sunday, July 23.

They are Sandi, Erick, former TNI Commander Andika Perkasa, Democratic Chairman Agus Harimurti Yudhoyono (AHY), and PKB General Chair Muhaimin Iskandar (Cak Imin).
