JAKARTA - PT Bank Syariah Indonesia Tbk (BSI) officially operates on February 1, 2021 as a merger of three state-owned sharia banks, namely PT Bank Syariah Mandiri, PT Bank BNI Syariah, and PT Bank BRIsyariah Tbk.
Bank Mandiri is the controller with a portion of 51.2 percent. Followed by BNI at 25 percent, and BRI with 17.4 percent. Meanwhile, public investors control 4.4 percent and DPLK BRI-Sharia shares as much as 2 percent.
This merger aims to optimize the great potential of Indonesia's Islamic finance and economy. In its formation, BSI has a vision to become one of the 10 largest Islamic banks in the world in terms of market capitalization in the next 5 years.
Currently, this financial service institution with the issuer code BRIS holds the title of the largest sharia bank in Indonesia.
To note, until December 2020, BSI has total assets of around Rp. 240 trillion, core capital of more than Rp. 22.60 trillion, total third party funds (DPK) of Rp. 210 trillion. Then, it was also stated that the company's financing had reached IDR 157 trillion.
In terms of profit collection, BSI's cuan on a consolidated basis is claimed to reach IDR 2.19 trillion as of December 2020.
With this financial performance, Bank Syariah Indonesia was included in the list of the top 10 largest banks in Indonesia in terms of assets, or to be precise, ranked seventh.
Then for the network side, BSI is supported by more than 1,241 branch offices, around 2,447 ATM networks, and has more than 20,000 members spread across the archipelago.
