Update On COVID-19 As Of February 1: 10,994 New Cases, Positivity Rate Increases To 17.6 Percent

JAKARTA - The Ministry of Health releases the latest additional positive cases of COVID-19 today. A total of 48,213 specimens were examined with the results that there were 10,994 new positive cases of COVID-19.

"The total accumulation of positive cases since COVID-19 was discovered in Indonesia reached 1,089,308 people", quoted from the Ministry of Health, Monday, February 1.

Today's cases recovered increased by 10,461 cases so that a total of 883,682 people recovered. Then, the positive confirmed cases who died increased by 279 people and a total of 30,277 people.

The province with the newest cases is in DKI Jakarta with 3,614 cases and a total of 273,332 cases. Followed by West Java which has 2,966 new cases with a total of 153,302 cases. Central Java has 974 new cases and a total of 126,329 cases. Then, East Java has 693 new cases and a total of 113,488 cases.

The province with the most cases recovered today belongs to West Java with an increase of 2,547 recovered cases. Followed by DKI Jakarta with an increase of 2,142 recovered cases, Central Java with an increase of 1,988 recovered cases, and East Java with an increase of 965 recovered cases.

There are two provinces that reported no new cases today. The provinces that reported zero new cases were Jambi and West Kalimantan.

In addition, the number of specimens examined reached 9,286,902. In detail, a total of 9,146,047 specimens were examined using real-time polymerase chain reaction (RT-PCR) and 140,855 using a molecular rapid test (TCM).

"The cumulative positive results per number of people examined or a positivity rate of 17.6 percent", he wrote.

For the number of people suspected of having contracted COVID-19 or who are currently categorized as suspected cases, it was recorded at 76,343 people. Currently, 510 districts/cities from 34 provinces have cases of COVID-19.

Currently, there are 539,532 people who have received the first dose of COVID-19 vaccination and 32,406 vaccines in the second dose. Meanwhile, the total vaccination targets reached 181,554,465 people.
