Jombang Police Conduct DNA Tests For Victims Of Mutilation, Identity Still Escape
The Jombang Resort Police, East Java, revealed that medical officers would check the identity of the mutilation victim found in the river in Japanan Village, Mojowarno District, Friday night, August 4 through DNA tests. Head of Criminal Investigation Unit of the Jombang Police AKP Aldo Febrianto said the victim's body had rotted when it was found, making it difficult for medical officers, so to find the identity of the victim a DNA test was carried out. "The fingerprints did not come out because the victim's body had rotted, two sacks removed all of them. So, DNA tests will be carried out," he said in Jombang, Saturday. In addition, he said the police were still waiting for the autopsy results carried out by the medical team from Bhayangkara Hospital Kediri, including to find out the victim's gender. "The condition of the victim's body was destroyed, because it was hot and exposed to water, so it quickly suffered decay," he said. His party is still trying to uncover the case of mutilation found in the river in Japanan Village, Mojowarno District, Jombang Regency. Currently, the police have examined a number of witnesses including the investigation of the crime scene (TKP) at the location where the victim was found.
The police have asked for information from three witnesses, consisting of the Japanese Village Head, then a fish finder who found the victim for the first time and a resident whose location was not far from the location where the victim was found. He also added that the search for the body parts of the victim's head which until now have not been found is still ongoing. The team assisted by volunteers so as to facilitate the search process. The team has conducted a search at the location of the findings, up to 1 kilometer, but until now the parts of the victim's limbs have not been found. "We are still looking for the victim's limbs. Volunteers also help comb up to 1 kilometer from the location where the victim was found, but at this time they have not been found," he said. The police also asked people who feel they have lost their family members to report immediately, making it easier to uncover this case.
