Puncturing Prostitution 36 Junior-High School Children In Mojokerto Kos Info Advertising Mode Arrested
SURABAYA - The East Java Regional Police's Sub-Directorate V Sub-Directorate Team for Special Crime Research (Ditreskrimsus) arrested a pimp with the initials OS, 38, a resident from Sidoarjo Regency. The suspect OS sold 36 junior high to high school students to a male masher.
"As many as 36 children aged 14 to 16 are still in junior high and high school. The OS suspect sold them via Facebook social media," said Deputy Chief of East Java Regional Police Brigadier General Slamet Hadi Supraptoyo, when releasing the case at the East Java Regional Police Headquarters, Surabaya, Monday, February 1 .
Slamet explained that the suspect OS was arrested at a boarding house in the Kranggan area, Mojokerto City, on Friday, January 29, 2021. The perpetrator had rented the daily boarding house to launch his business.
"The suspect OS was assisted by a number of other minors, who acted as resellers looking for victims to offer through social media Facebook and WhatsApp," he said.
The OS suspect, continued Slamet, asked the reseller to create Facebook and Whatsapp accounts and join Facebook groups such as 'Kos Info and Kontrakan Mojokerto area', 'Kos and Kontrakan Info Mojokerto, Ngoro and Pasuruan'. Then after there are prospective tenants, the transaction is transferred to WhatsApp social media. When dealing with tenants, the perpetrator directs them to a daily boarding house that costs IDR 50,000.
"The rate for prostitution ranges from Rp. 250 to Rp. 600 thousand. But OS once sold female call girls aged 8th grade junior high school students at a rate of Rp1.3 million," said Slamet.
Meanwhile, the suspect OS admitted that many of his victims offered prostitution services to him. "Sometimes many of them come by themselves and offer to me. They have been called women before. I only get Rp50 thousand from the room rent," said OS.
From this arrest, evidence was secured with four cellphones and Rp1.3 million from the victim witness with the initials Mawar. For his actions, the suspect was charged with Article 27 paragraph 1 in conjunction with 45 paragraph 1 of the Law on Information and Electronic Transactions (ITE) on online prostitution with the threat of a sentence of six years in prison and a maximum fine of Rp1 billion.
