Chery Omoda 5 Successfully Won Five Stars In ANCAP Collision Test

Chery, an automotive company from China, reiterated the superior quality of its products through an impressive hit test on the Chery Omoda 5.

Recently, the latest SUV from Chery managed to prove its readiness in terms of safety by winning a five-star rating from the Australation New Car Assessment Program (ANCAP) in the Oceania region.

ANCAP is known as a strict and independent driving safety evaluation agency. They carried out various evaluation tests to measure vehicle safety performance, and Chery Omoda 5 became a very memorable test subject.

Andy Zhang, Director of Chery Motor Australia, expressed his joy at the achievements achieved by Chery Omoda 5 from ANCAP. He stressed the company's commitment to continuing to prioritize high safety standards.

"This recognition strengthens our commitment to always provide vehicles with the highest safety standards, giving confidence to our customers," Andy said in a statement on Monday, August 1.

In a series of hit tests carried out by ANCAP, Chery Omoda 5 faced various scenarios, including a hit-front test with a speed of 50 km/hour, a side-braking test with a speed of 60 km/h, as well as a tilted test with a speed of 32 km/hour.

The test results yielded a very satisfactory value for the flagship Chery SUV. Omoda 5 managed to score 87 percent for protection for adult passengers, 88 percent for child protection, 68 percent for pedestrian protection, and 83 percent for safety assistance features.

This hit test is important because Chery Omoda 5 was the first model introduced in Australia last March.
