Have A Protein Content Higher Than Salmon, Let's Get To Know Sidat Fish
JAKARTA - salmon has a high protein content. However, it turns out that cydat fish have better protein and nutrients than salmon.
Unfortunately, most of the cydat fish in Indonesia are exported to Japan as raw material for unagi.
"When it comes to nutritional content, cydat fish is one of the best sources of animal protein. It is not inferior to salmon, tuna, or other imported fish," said a nutritionist from Alma Ata University, Yogyakarta, Pramitha Sari, quoted from ANTARA, Tuesday, August 1.
Furthermore, Pramitha explained that cydat fish contain many omega 3, beta carotene, vitamins A, B, and C, as well as high protein.
"It is also important to note that cydat fish are low in carbohydrates. The nutritional combination in cydat fish is good for maintaining the health of the eyes and immunity," said Pramitha.
The abundant nutritional content makes cydat fish one of the best foods for babies who have just entered the MPASI phase. Pramitha said children who consume cydat fish will have good immune system.
Children with good body power practically have a high appetite.
'Sydat fish is good for immunity and antioxidants. That's encouraging for immunity. Well, if a child is easily sick, it usually lacks appetite because appetite decreases. Meanwhile, children who have good immunity usually prefer to eat, "said Pramitha.
However, Pramitha admits that it is difficult to find cydat fish in the market. In addition, the awareness of parents about the benefits of Indonesian cydat and other endemic fish is still very minimal.
Sometimes mothers who start MPASI are too impressed with imported fish. The nutritional content of salmon is actually below the local Indonesian fish level. So cydat fish is very good for brain nutrition so that the child is smart," said Pramitha.
"But it's also natural that many parents don't know the benefits, because access to cydat fish is very minimal. I've never found anyone selling cydat fish in the market," he added.

Gizidat is a child's nutrition that is processed from forest honey, cydat, and curcuma or temlawak. Having a distribution permit from the POM Agency in April 2019, Gizidat products are marketed online and offline.
