Max Cavalera And His Son Form A Brutal Power Trio Go Ahead And Die
JAKARTA - The legend of Sepultura / Soulfly / Cavalera Conspiracy, Max Cavalera launched a new band, Go Ahead And Die (GAAD). This time it combines death and thrash metal with extra influences from early punk rock and Celtic Frost.
In his new project, Max invites his son, Igor Amadeus Cavalera and Khemmis / Black Curse drummer Zach Coleman to complete the formation of this brutal power trio.
"One of the great father / son collaborations in presenting an old school style with a new attitude!" said Max quoted from Loudwire, Monday, February 1.
"Igor's sick (guitar) riffs and harsh lyrics and Zach Coleman's brutal drumming inspired me! Extreme times call for extreme music!"
Go Ahead and Die has signed with Nuclear Blast Records, the current home of Soulfly and Killer Be Killed.
"We are very excited to sign a contract with Nuclear Blast. They are definitely the right choice for this very heavy album. GAAD will send a fast-paced, hate-driven energy that has not been heard of in years," stated Igor Amadeus Cavalera.
"I'm really excited to be a part of GAAD and release an album at Nuclear Blast! I felt we could capture (extreme) aggression with the record. It's a mix of old styles (think '89 metal / punk style) and a new sound that reflects what it is. that's going on around us. Protest and survive! " Zach Coleman added.
Meanwhile Nuclear Blast commented: “For a heavy, brutal, and angry album; Go Ahead And Die will leave metal fans with smiles on their faces. With a boulder-sized riff and a sincere demeanor that speaks of today's horrors, this album will without a doubt leave its mark on the metal world and we are delighted to be a part of their journey. "
