Getuk Goreng Typical Kudus Ready To Go International, But Need A Sponsor
KUDUS - Fried Getuk which is a typical food of Kajar Village, Dawe District, Kudus Regency, Central Java, will be included in the culinary festival event in Slovenia which is scheduled to be held in mid-2021, "said Head of Tourism Division of the Culture and Tourism Office of Kudus Regency Mutrikah.
"Initially, the culinary festival organized by the Ministry of Foreign Affairs in Slovenia was scheduled to be held in March 2020. However, because it coincided with the COVID-19 pandemic it was postponed between June-July 2021," he said in Kudus, Sunday, January 31.
To support his departure to Slovenia, he said, sponsors who are ready to finance are needed to introduce Kudus's potential to the outside world. Currently, we are still trying to find sponsors who are willing to help.
The reason for choosing getuk goreng, apart from being the typical food of Kajar Village and to promote local wisdom that is owned by the tourist village, is also a new innovation developed by one of the business actors by utilizing available natural resources.
Starting from the main raw material, namely cassava or sweet potato to the use of toppings, it also uses local raw materials, such as avocado. Currently it is still under development to make various kinds of flavors using local raw materials as a form of empowerment.
The purpose of developing a tourism village, he said, is one of the development of new innovations by utilizing local raw materials. This will become the characteristics of the village that is worth selling and is able to attract tourists to visit.
For this reason, the Kudus Regency Government appointed a companion and consultant for tourism villages so that their development could really be maximized and later it would be worth selling.
"From the start, we built the slopes of the Muria Mountains through the potential of each village. One of them is the typical food of Kajar Village in the form of fried getuk, which has now become a special tourist attraction. In fact, many parties have invested in this business," he said.
Kamisan, one of the owners of Pak San's Getuk Goreng cottage in Kajar Village, who is trusted to participate in the culinary festival in Slovenia, admits that he is grateful for having the honor to appear abroad.
The preparations made, apart from preparing various flavors of fried getuk with local raw materials, also preparing the raw materials to be brought to Slovenia.
Previously, the fried getuk sold only original flavors, brown and white sugar, and young coconut ointment and chocolate flavor. While the flavors that have been developed recently, namely fried getuk with avocado sauce with various toppings and crispy fried getuk.
"We are still trying other flavors with the hope that when it comes time to go to Sloveni there will be a variety of Kajar fried getuk flavors available," he said.
