The Central Police Coordinate With Malaysian Police To Investigate Men Burning Red And White Flags

JAKARTA - Aceh Police investigators continue to carry out a series of investigations into the burning of the red and white flag.

The perpetrator in the flag burning is known to reside in Malaysia and is a citizen of Aceh.

Head of Public Relations of the Aceh Regional Police, Kombes Winardy, said that his party would first coordinate with the National Police Headquarters.

"Sub-Directorate for Cyber Crime of the Regional Police of Aceh will coordinate with Bareskrim first, then Bareskrim to Divhubinter to coordinate with PDRM (Royal Malaysian Police)," Winardy explained when confirmed by VOI, Sunday, January 31.

Winardy said detailed information about the results of the investigation had been submitted to the Penmas Bureau of the Police Headquarters. The identity of the perpetrator is known based on the results of profiling and analysis.

"Meanwhile (the case) is still at Polda Aceh, and is being coordinated with Bareskrim Polri for handling it," said Winardy.

Circulating videos of a man burning a red and white flag. The police have changed the identity of the man.

"Our team is still working to clarify who the perpetrator is, the names of the perpetrators have been pocketed," said Head of Public Relations of the Aceh Police, Kombes Winardy, to VOI, Saturday, January 30.

Currently the police are still exploring his background. The man who burns the red and white flag is said to live in Malaysia.

Based on the video seen by VOI, the man burned the red and white flag by sprinkling oil or gasoline.

The man who wore a predominantly black shirt seemed to splash the liquid several times. Although the man did not speak at all, a song could be heard accompanying the burning of the flag.
